After a new activity of distributing humanitarian aid, as part of the national contingency for the Covid-19 virus, more than 2,650 food kits were distributed to the most vulnerable inhabitants of Cartagena, in the department of Bolívar, thanks to the effort conducted by the Colombian Navy and different State agencies in the heroic city.
As part of the Unified State action, this time it was possible to reach door-to-door houses in the neighborhoods Nelson Mandela, El Pozón and the municipality of La Boquilla, with the thousands of food baskets prepared with basic necessities of the family basket, donated by the National Government and the private sector, which seek to supply these communities and improve their well-being.
Members of the Caribbean Naval Force, the Bolivar Governorate, the Cartagena Mayor's Office, the National Police, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management - UNGRD and the Colombian Civil Defense have been in charge of storing, transporting and distributing thousands of humanitarian aid throughout the rural and urban area of Cartagena during the Mandatory Preventive Isolation.
In compliance with the San Roque operation, the Colombian Navy, through the Caribbean Naval Force, will continue to work in coordination and jointly with the different institutions of the public and private sectors for the benefit of the inhabitants of the territories under its responsibility, while invites the community to follow the precautions of the Colombian Ministry of Health to contribute with the purpose of reduce COVID-19 infections.
