The heavy rains continue in the department of Meta and with them the hits against the inhabitants of the plains, this time the sudden rising of the Humadea River, surprised a minor of 13 years, who was rescued by the Colombian Air Force after being caught in the middle of water in La Pascualera, in the municipality San Martín, Meta.
Through the National Personnel Recovery Center, CNRP, a UH-60 helicopter of the Air Combat Command No.2, CACOM2, was deployed, carrying out a night-time search and rescue mission in Ángel configuration to rescue this minor who was isolated in the place.
The search and rescue work was undertaken by the San Martín relief agencies, but despite their committed operation and the implementation of protocols at water, the low visibility, the ground conditions and the volume of the water it was impossible to carry out the extraction maneuvers by land.
For the air operation, the crew used night vision equipment and rescue elements, a non-commissioned officer specialized in personnel recovery descended of the helicopter to meet the young man, get him on board the aircraft and transport him to a nearby point where Firemen and Civil defense awaited him to return him home.
