In a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Criminal Investigation Section - SIJÍN of the National Police, a 22-year-old man was arrested during a search procedure carried out in a building in the Voladero sector, in the Fatima neighborhood, municipality of Tumaco - Nariño.
During the intervention, the individual was carrying a 9 mm caliber pistol, with two magazines and 23 cartridges. In addition, a plastic package containing approximately one kilogram of cocaine hydrochloride and a bag with 453 grams of marijuana were seized from him.
Allegedly, the arrested man specialized in microtrafficking, an illicit activity that he was carrying out to finance the support networks of the Residual Organized Armed Group Iván Ríos Structure.
The individual, along with the material found, was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for the alleged crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying weapons, ammunition or explosives, and trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics, in accordance with the provisions of articles 365 and 376 of the Colombian Criminal Code.
This powerful heavy blow highlights the coordinated work conducted by the Colombian Navy and the National Police in their fight against organized crime and drug trafficking in the Colombian South Pacific.
The Naval Institution reaffirms its commitment to strengthening security and law and order on the Pacific coast of Nariño, with the aim of dismantling the criminal networks that commit crimes in the region.
