In the framework of the 'Artemisa' operation, more than 10 thousand trees were planted with the help of the voluntary community of the municipalities of Nimaima and El Rosal.
During an activity that started very early, the Bicentenary Heroes of the Infantry Battalion No.38 'Miguel Antonio Caro', worked on the protocol of preparing the land with fertilizer, consistency and drainage of the land, digging holes for the sowing of more than 8,000 native trees, protective plants of the streams El Palmar de Vergara and La Berberia, water sources that nourish the aqueduct of the Tobia, in the municipality of Nimaima.
On the other hand, and with the same procedure, in the vicinity of the El Rodeo stream in the municipality of Subachoque, troops of this tactical unit, in a joint effort with the private company and the inhabitants of the sector, implemented the planting of more than 2,000 other trees of the region used as a living fence on the banks of water basins with the purpose of strengthening the environmental conditions of the ecosystem of the region.
