Thanks to the timely operation of the Fourth Brigade, Paola Villa was evacuated from the area and was sent to the Hospital of the municipality of San Andr茅s de Cuerquia.
Antioquia. The primary care that a platoon Horus of the Infantry Battalion No. 10 "Coronel Atanasio Girardot", of the Fourth Brigade of the National Army, helped a peasant, in the sector known as Lomas de Ochal铆, of the municipality of Yarumal, and saved her life.
The Horus soldiers were alerted on the particular medical situation. The mother of Paola Villa, an inhabitant of that sector in the north of Antioquia, alerted the troops of the Fourth Brigade through a telephone call where she said she needed the help of the National Army to evacuate her daughter from the area.
Paola Villa suffered an episode of bleeding and symptoms of abortion with six weeks of pregnancy. Therefore, the Horus Squad soldiers of the area went to their home to provide first aid and proceed with her evacuation.
Due to the climate conditions, Paola could not be evacuated in a helicopter, reason why she was evacuated by land. A stretcher was improvised with two long guaduas (canes) and a cintela (military fabric) to move her more than five kilometers through stony roads and streams, to finally reach the place where an ambulance awaited to take her to the Hospital of the municipality of San Andr茅s de Cuerquia .
