With this initiative, the institution in the same way seeks to strengthen the internal culture, military doctrine and environmental care.
The National Army, through a communication strategy, under the guidelines and objectives of Operation Artemisa, launched an innovative campaign in order to strengthen the institutional culture, promote the integrity of men and women as part of the transparency policy, make visible the tactics, techniques and procedures of the military doctrine for the proper development of military operations and also to make the entire force aware of the conservation and protection of the environment, especially the preservation of an animal in critical danger of extinction with the creation of the character Franco.
It is a puppet that represents the white-headed monkey titi, an animal endemic to the tropical forests of the Colombian Caribbean. He will accompany the soldiers of Colombia in a web series, initially of 8 chapters, where he will interact with them, listening to them, guiding them and giving them advice.
The idea of the creators is to reflect in Franco a reliable being, who in the same way knows what the value of the family means, who knows in depth the environment where he lives, because he is a very curious and intrepid animal. He will become the new partner of every one in the institution.
The white-headed titi (saguinus oedipus) lives only in Colombia, specifically in the Colombian Caribbean, and is one of the most threatened in the world, since currently there are only 7,000 specimens of the 70,000 that represent the animal ideal population.
In 1973 it was declared endangered and since then the authorities have been taking operations to reduce the risk of extinction and the number of animals captured in the wild for illegal trade.
In the framework of this strategy, the soldiers campaigns will be conducting educational activities with communities in order to preserve the animal and its natural habitat with medium term nurseries, an initiative that will be done with the corporations, and environmental support of the Foundation Proyecto Tit铆, which is a non-profit private institution, which since 1985, has focused its efforts on the generation of scientific knowledge about the biology and ecology of the animal, as well as make visible the threats the animal faces and the possible solutions to ensure its survival.
