More than 100 units of cotton candy and 100 bags of popcorn were distributed by the National Army in the San Carlos neighborhood of the municipality of Arauca, as part of the celebration of Children's Day.
Since all the children in Colombia, and in this case in the municipality of Arauca, are complying with the mandatory preventive isolation, men of the National Army and the National Navy went house to house with cotton candy, popcorn and colored balloons, with the aim of celebrating Children's Day and providing them with a moment of distraction and happiness.
Alejandro Gil, a resident of the San Carlos neighborhood, expressed: “In the neighborhood we were very sad, because as a result of the pandemic we had not been able to celebrate this, but thanks to a nephew who told me why the children were not getting anything; I had the idea to go ask the Army for accompaniment and thanks to this we do the activity with all the protective measures. ”
This activity occurred thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the National Army with its Comprehensive Action Battalion No.8 in support of the Eighth Division and the Battalion of services No.18, the National Navy with the navy Infantry River Battalion No.52, the mayor's office with the first lady of the municipality and inhabitants of the sector.
