Minister of Defense presented in the Senate the operations of the Military Forces in the framework of the health emergency for COVID-19.
In plenary, Minister of Defense said that this Government has achieved record figures in the fight against drug trafficking.
Military Forces will continue to support humanitarian efforts during the pandemic.
"The men and women of the Military Forces will continue to be committed to security, we will continue to defend and support Colombians, we will continue to fight against the symbols of evil that have caused so much damage to Colombia."
This is how the minister of Defense, Diego Molano, highlighted in the plenary of the Senate of the Republic, the operations carried out daily by members of the Military Forces to guarantee the safety of all Colombians and access, in times of pandemic, to humanitarian aid provided daily by the National Government.
Molano in the same way said that at the moment one of the main challenges of the Military Forces is the fight against drug trafficking and the micro-trafficking, which is the main generator of violence in the different regions of the country.
"Today the main threat to the security and tranquility of Colombians is drug trafficking, and drug trafficking does not go away because there was a pandemic, on the contrary, it seeks to increase because the bandits have plans to expand," the minister said.
The head of the ministry of Defense in the same way said that at this time the Military Forces are fighting the "five symbols of evil: the dissidents of the Farc, the Eln, the GAO Clan del Golfo, The Pelusos and Caparros," and that they are the main responsible for the killings and displacements today reported in the country.
Finally, the minister reported that the Military Forces, hand in hand with the ICBF, launched a search bloc against child recruiters, "because this is a commitment of President Duque, the Prevention of forced recruitment, recruiters must know that they have to pay, that this is a crime against humanity".
