The virtual event was supported by the National Army and its Program Fe en Colombia and sought to promote direct marketing conducted by producers in the department of La Guajira and State institutions.
The marketing meeting brought together 44 buyers and 10 producers of the region, with the aim of generating commercial dynamics to optimize the marketing circuits, strengthening the economy of local producers through the public purchase of food for the social programs of the State and institutions.
As a result of this business Meeting, 23 agreements were signed to trade eggs, rice, milk powder, cheese, Panela, cheese, corn, tomato, avocado, plantain, cassava, onion, and pork; these agreements amounted to a monthly cost of $717 721 200 COP, $630,680,000 of them correspond to transactions with the operators of the School Feeding Program, $82 200 200 to the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, ICBF, and $ 4 841 000 for the National Army.
This strategy, which supports the process of economic recovery in the national territory, was possible thanks to the inter-agency coordination conducted by the Presidential council for the Stabilization and Consolidation, the government of La Guajira, the Municipality of Riohacha, the Unit for School food, the National Learning Service (SENA), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Social Prosperity, Rural Development Agency (ADR), the ICBF, the National Army, the program Faith in Colombia, the United Nations Organization for Food and Agriculture, among others.
Thus, the National Army and its Program Fe en Colombia reaffirms its commitment to continue working in an inter-institutional manner for the benefit of the producers and thus support the strengthening of legal activities.
