Under the leadership of the International Helicopter School for the Military Forces, EIHFA, the VII International Conference of Helicopter Maintenance Inspectors began, an academic space that for three days will bring together military delegates from different nations to exchange knowledge about training, safety and aeronautical maintenance.
The purpose of the conference, which takes place at the facilities of the Family Compensation Fund, CAFAM, is to consolidate the instruction and training programs of the EIHFA as a regional reference in the training of helicopter pilots. Among the attendees, representatives of the Air Forces of the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile and Honduras stand out, along with other military and civilian delegations related to aviation safety.
Throughout the event, participants will address essential issues to improve risk management in aviation. Among them, aspects such as standardization and technical training as key tools to mitigate human error, as well as methodologies aimed at analyzing and learning from accidents and incidents, seeking to strengthen preventive practices in air operations. In addition, the importance of preventive maintenance as a commitment for the safe military operations of aircraft will be deepened.
In this context, the mechanical engineer Jos茅 Alberto Herrera V谩squez, one of the main speakers, highlighted during his speech the relevance of technical rigor in each flight operation. When flying, it is essential to follow the follow step by step the review of the correct use of the aircraft. Procedures should not be omitted due to laziness or trying to take off quickly, since each step exists for the safety of the flight, he said.
In the same way, the conference seeks to promote integration of the different participating institutions, reaffirming the joint commitment within the framework of international safety and efficiency standards. This institutional coordination is reflected both in the conferences and in the practical workshops and simulations that will recreate critical flight situations, aimed at strengthening the response capacity of the crews.
The event will end next October 18th, the day on which the closing ceremony will take place. During this session, the final conclusions will be presented and the commitments of the attendees will be reaffirmed, highlighting the relevance of this type of meetings for the strengthening of the safety of the military operation and air training in the region.
