In maritime control operations to prevent theft of ships, in the department of Valle del Cauca, the Colombian Navy captured alias '“Reinaldo” or “Gavilan”, head of the finance group of a Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO) that controls drug trafficking routes in the area of the municipality of Guapi, in the department of Cauca.
The capture was carried out by Coast Guard units attached to the Pacific Naval Force, in the Bay of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca, with information from naval intelligence and the support of the Special Investigation Unit of the Attorney General's Office of the Nation, during the inspection of passenger ships.
On board a boat that covered the route Guapi, in Cauca, to the port of Buenaventura, an operation of criminal records checking was made to the crew and passengers. Edward Sinisterra Sinisterra, alias “Reinaldo” or “Gavilan” was identified and detained through an arrest warrant for the alleged crimes of threat, kidnapping, aggravated conspiracy and terrorism.
According to the criminal record of alias “Reinaldo” or “Gavilan”, 31, he committed crimes for more than 13 years with the extinct group of the Farc, being ringleader of the Front 29 and head of kidnapping of this front. In the same way, he was in charge of transporting war material and explosives, he coordinated and carried out terrorist operations in the municipalities of Guapi in the department of Cauca, and El Charco and La Tola, in the department of Nariño.
Last year, the FARC, as a political movement, denounced that it had expelled him of the Territorial Training and Reintegration Space - ETCR, in El Patía - Cauca, since he had continued to commit crimes through extortion in the municipalities of Guapi and Timbiquí.
This individual became the head of finance of a Residual Organized Armed Group that controls and disputes the mobility routes in the municipality of Guapi, in Cauca.
Alias “Reinaldo” or “Gavilan” was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for the respective judicial proceedings.
