Within the framework of the National Vaccination Plan against COVID-19, the Colombian Air Force has provided all its resources to reach the most remote municipalities of Tolima through helicopters belonging to the Air Combat Command No.4, which have led to transport more than 8,500 vaccines to the municipalities of Chaparral, Planadas, Alpujarra, Libano, Casablanca, Villahermosa, Dolores, San Antonio and Rioblanco, in El Tolima, during the last weeks.
At this time, in which the country is going through the third peak of the pandemic because of the Coronavirus, crews of CACOM 4 are constantly making flights so that the vaccine can reach all the most remote municipalities in order to carry out vaccination activities quickly and not only distribute them in a timely manner but to provide support to the areas of more difficult access in the Department.
The transport of vaccines is carried out with strict biosecurity protocols and under the proper refrigeration conditions; similarly, staff of the Ministry of health of Tolima is in charge of making the formal distribution of these elements in each municipality, which are always guarded by the National Police.
