The individuals had detention warrants for different crimes committed during the year.
Magdalena. Members of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Magdalena, of the First Division, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps), detained two individuals in the urban area of the neighborhood “20 de Octubre”, of Santa Marta, and in the municipality of Maicao, in the department of La Guajira.
The two men apparently belonged to 'Los Merqueros', a criminal organization that was in charge of disappearance of people and theft of vehicles in the departments of Magdalena and La Guajira.
In addition to the captures, it was possible to find a vehicle that belonged to one of the detainees. In the same way, the investigations will be made in search of clues that help to establish what happened with the young man Jeiner Jair Rincón, who disappeared in last March in areas surrounding the village of Mingueo, in La Guajira.
The two men will be prosecuted for the crimes of forced disappearance, aggravated robbery and legalization of stolen goods. These individuals were put into custody of the Immediate Reaction Unit, URI, of Santa Marta.
The Multi mission Heroes of the First Division continue to conduct constant military operations that guarantee the security of the citizens of the northern zone of the country.
