The coordinated and joint work conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army and the National Police led to the effective arrest warrant issued for two men for alleged multiple crimes.
The individuals of Colombian nationality, aged 37 and 46, known by the aliases Leo and Culebra, natives to the area La Pedrera, were arrested in the same village and later transported in an Air Force aircraft to Leticia, Amazonas.
The men were searched by the First Municipal Criminal Court of Leticia by the alleged crimes of attempted homicide, forced displacement, kidnapping for ransom, torture, and manufacturing, traffic, carry or possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition, crimes allegedly being committed in the area.
It is important to highlight that, during the search procedures, a pistol, a magazine, 16 7.65mm caliber cartridges and a satellite phone were found by troops, which were taken as evidentiary material elements and physical evidence within the investigation. Once the legalization of arrest was carried out, it was resolved that the individuals would be put in prison, in the Leticia Prison Penitentiary Center.
