Nari帽o. The General Maritime Directorate (Dimar), through the Oceanographic and Hydrographic Research Center (CIOH) of the Pacific and the Harbor Authority of Tumaco, has made several talks on awareness and care of the environment in the region, on the occasion of the days of Water, Earth and Recycling, celebrated in March and April.
The last of these commemorations was an awareness-raising lecture on water care, which counted on the sellers of El Morro beach and Dimar officials.
Through this talk, the attitude change was fostered with operations based on common sense and respectful attitude towards the proper use of water. For example: closing the stopcock when going on a trip, repairing faucets to prevent dripping and taking advantage of daily work with minimum quantities were the main recommendations.
Similarly, and thanks to the support of the Tourism Police, National Navy and Civil Defense, a beach clean-up activity was carried out in El Bajito sector, which was complemented by volunteers who helped collect solid waste such as plastic, ferrous material, glass and polystyrene; in the same way, the green areas of the sector were pruned.
Consolidating Colombia as a maritime country is a mission that starts with the conservation and care, not only of the Ocean, but in the same way of all its natural wealth.
