The deadly traps prohibited in the protocols of International Humanitarian Law, threatened to hit the good physical condition of the rural population in the rural area of Algeciras, in the department of Huila.
It is an Antipersonnel Mine, and an Improvised Explosive Device, which were found by soldiers of the 9th High Mountain Battalion of the Ninth Brigade, thanks to the use of the trained dogs and search and control operations.
The operation took place in the village La Arcadia in the municipality of Algeciras in eastern Huila; there, the units work to clean this type of threats that in the past were planted with the purpose of stopping the work of the Security forces towards the camp areas of the illegal armed structures that operated in the area.
Once the anti-explosive dog detected the presence of explosives, the Exde - Delta, initiated security protocols to destroy the deadly traps under controlled conditions. An operation that led to give tranquility to the peasant population of the sector.
