In this way, the entry of more than eight and a half million dollars into the finances of drug trafficking organizations was prevented, which would be the product of the distribution of approximately 600 thousand doses of narcotics on the streets of the world.
Two maritime control and security operations carried out by the Colombian Navy units conducted in the Colombian Pacific, led to the interception of two ships, which were transporting 387 kilograms of narcotics in the maritime waters of Valle del Cauca.
The first ship, manned by three individuals, was detected by naval units of the Pacific Naval Force, at the moment it was sailing at high speeds, so the maritime interception procedure was immediately initiated. The individuals who were crewing the boat, noticing the work of the authorities, started to escape and left several packages at sea. The quick reaction of the military personnel led to the seizure of the boat and the recovery of the illegal merchandise that was floating on the water, which when verified left a positive result for 163 kilograms of marijuana.
In a second operation, the Colombian Sailors detected another suspicious ship and proceeded to carry out the maritime interception. The boat was manned by two individuals, who were transporting several packages with 224 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The material found, the two boats and the five individuals were taken to the Coast Guard Station of Buenaventura, in Valle de Cauca.
With these operations, the Colombian Navy prevented more than eight and a half million dollars from entering drug trafficking organizations, which would product of the distribution of approximately 600 thousand doses of narcotics on the streets of the world.
