Committed to the conservation and care of the environment, the Faith in Colombia program and the Comprehensive Action and Development Support Battalion No.5 of the National Army, train the community victim of the conflict in the Santa Helena de Chaparral housing project.
More than 80 people, including children, youth and adults of the Santa Helena housing project of the municipality of Chaparral, in southern Tolima, benefited of the environmental training provided by the team of “Fe en Colombia” in which they explained the importance of the participation of environmental care, what are the benefits obtained from a healthy environment and how it is being harmed by daily activities.
During the activity, the active participation of children and young people was important, who expressed their interest on the subject and, through dynamic activities, expressed different ideas to support the protection of the environment in their homes and their community.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that all the inhabitants of this community are victims of the armed conflict and that is why a social intervention program is being carried out and already counts on some activities planned for the following months, in order to contribute to processes of social reintegration and support progress through different initiatives.
“Our commitment to the community is total, we visit all families especially those in need in the region so that, through the capabilities of the Faith in Colombia program, different activities and projects can be carried out and they will have a positive impact on people, but above all, they idea is to keep their Army in their hearts, an Army that mitigates social problems which does not have a pause for seeing a better Colombia,” said Lt. Col. Yann Dubian Blanco Parra, Commander of the Comprehensive Action Battalion No.5.
The National Army ratifies through its Fifth Division, Sixth Brigade, Zeus Stabilization Operational Command and the Comprehensive Action and Development Support Command, the execution of different social interventions for the most vulnerable communities of the department in order to support their benefit and progress.
