In fulfillment of the Plan of Campaign of the Bicentenary Heroes de la Libertad, the Joint Task Force of the Stabilisation and Consolidation Hercules, in development of joint military operations conducted by the National Army, the Navy, the Colombian Air Force, coordinated with the National Police and inter agency with the office of the Prosecutor General of the Nation, arrested three alleged members of the Organised Armed Group, residual Structure Franco Benavides, recovered a minor and found war material and military accessories in the municipality of San Pedro Bolívar, in the municipality of El Charco, Nariño.
In the military operation, troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No.15, after several hours of combat against members of this structure, they arrest these individuals, who tried to flee in a boat after leaving the weapons on the Tapaje River, but after the rapid reaction of units of the River Battalion of Navy Infantry No.43 these individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto.
The arrested were taken in a helicopter by members of the National Army aviation and pilots of the Colombian Air Force to the urban area of the municipality of Tumaco, Nariño.
During the operation, a minor was recovered and handed over to the Children and Adolescents Police in order to restore her rights.
In the same way, at the scene of the events it was possible to find a boat, two rifles, magazines, abundant ammunition and material of military accessories for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.
The material and the individuals were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.
With this result troops hit the whole components of this criminal organization, responsible for killings, acts of crime and clashes with other structures perpetrated by drug trafficking, assisting the recommendations of the early warning 080-2018, issued by the office of the Ombudsman, which consists in the adoption of prevention and protection measures that will safeguard the rights to life, liberty and security of the inhabitants.
