In a river security operation, units of the Colombian Navy together with joint he Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hercules, arrested in flagrante delicto three alleged members of the Residual Organized Armed Group Segunda Marquetalia, structure Alfonso Cano, who were traveling aboard a suspicious ship on the Brazo Largo River, near the municipality of Francisco Pizarro – Nariño.
This result was given in military checkpoint, when troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.41, they detected a green and white lobster boat, named Lian Betungo, which was sailing at high speed through the sector.
Noticing the work of the Navy Infantry, the crew of the civilian ship started to escape, ignoring the multiple calls made by the authority. Immediately, members of the Military Forces deployed to reach these people, who began shooting at the military boat, producing an armed encounter that ended when they reached terrain where they abandoned the ship.
The effective pursuit by the navy resulted in the arrest of two men and one woman, as well as the finding of a fiberglass boat, a rifle, two shotguns, 997 cartridges of different calibers, 11 magazines, a fragmentation grenade, military accessory material, including a FARC-EP bracelet and communication equipment.
The three people arrested in flagrante delicto were taken along with the material found to the municipality of Tumaco - Nariño, where they were put into custody of the authorities for the alleged crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying weapons, ammunition for restricted use by the exclusive use of Military Forces or explosives.
