In an operation carried out by the Unified Action Group for Personal Freedom - Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Colombian Navy, two men and one woman were arrested in flagrante delicto, for the alleged crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, in the village of Chilví, rural area of the municipality of Tumaco - Nariño.
Intelligence work led to the identification of a building in which three people were hiding, who apparently would be responsible for the execution of crimes related to kidnapping and extortion, against merchants and owners of farms in the rural area of Tumaco.
Once the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) personnel found the house, it carried out the search procedure ordered by the Attorney General's Office, made the arrests and found two fragmentation grenades, 14 5.56 mm caliber cartridges, a communications radio and a variety of units of mobile equipment, elements that together with the three citizens were put into custody of the security authorities.
The individuals who would be alias El Pollo, alias Pin and alias Mafe, aged 24, 26 and 31, allegedly belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group Guerrilla Coordination of the Pacific, structure Iván Ríos.
The active existence of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in the territory has prevented organizations outlaw from carrying out different crimes related to extortion and kidnapping of the inhabitants of the rural and urban areas of the municipality of Tumaco - Nariño.
