With the finding of this shipment, the Colombian Navy prevented the circulation and consumption of more than 600 thousand doses of cocaine internationally.
In security operations for international trade in the Colombian Pacific, the Colombian Navy, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Police and port authorities, managed to find a shipment of 245 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that was hidden in two containers on route towards Central America.
Thanks to information provided in a timely manner by the Civic Participation Network of the Colombian Navy, the authorities conducted the scanning of two containers, in which they detect an inconsistency in the load, so the members of the Military Forces proceeded to carry out a physical inspection with trained dogs, finding five bags with 245 rectangular pressed packages, similar to those used by drug trafficking organizations to send narcotic substances abroad.
Once the Preliminary Identification Test was conducted by the Judicial Police, the substance found in the packages tested positive for cocaine hydrochloride.
It is estimated that the value of this shipment of narcotics is more than eight million dollars, money that, thanks to the decisive operation of the Military Forces, will not enter the finances of criminal groups.
The Colombian Navy reaffirms its commitment to the fight against drug trafficking and will continue to carry out coordinated operations with the different public and private institutions to deny the use of maritime communication roads to organizations and individuals at the service of transnational crimes.
