Troops of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, neutralize in development of military operations, the individual known as El Perro or Don Diego, who would be the second ringleader of the substructure Edwin Román Velásquez, of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in the Department of Antioquia.
Through information provided by intelligence and in response to Early Warning 004 of 2020, of the Ombudsman's office, it was possible to carry out the military operation, in the municipality El Tinto, in Ituango, North of Antioquia.
Alias El Perro would have a criminal experience of 22 years and would have participated in multiple criminal activities, such as the murder of seven people, including a baby, which occurred in July 2010, in the municipality of Uramita. Similarly, he would be linked to the incineration of vehicles and motorcycles on the main roads of the Department of Antioquia during 2016 and 2017, which left as a result nine police patrol officers and four civilians injured.
This individual would be the alleged coordinator of the crime of a former member of the Farc in December 2019 in Ituango and the kidnapping and subsequent murder of two people in October 2020, in the municipality of Giraldo, west of the Department.
