This year, the Joint Task Force Aquiles has destroyed 34 coca paste base laboratories, which were at the service of different GAO that commit crimes in the Bajo Cauca of Antioquia and south of Córdoba.
As part of the Ayacucho Plan, National Army troops reported the finding of more than 170 kilograms of coca paste base, apparently belonging to the Julio César Vargas substructure, of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in the village El Doce, municipality of Tarazá, Antioquia.
Through territorial control tasks, soldiers of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 24, of the Joint Task Force Aquiles, reported the arrest in flagrante delicto of an individual who was traveling suspiciously in a car over the sector. The members of the Military Forces, when carrying out the search of the vehicle, found the drug.
In the same way, it was possible to find and destroy a coca base paste production laboratory in the village of Barro Blanco, of the same municipality, which would be at the service of the Julio César Vargas Substructure, of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in which 3 plastic barrels containing 140 gallons of DIESEL were found by troops; 2, with 20 gallons of gasoline, a 15-kilogram lime sack, 10 liters of ammonia and 125 kilos of coca leaf.
With this finding, the illicit finances of this GAO are hit for $1,200,000,000 COP limiting its criminal operations against civilians and the Military Forces.
Finally, the material and the arrested individual were put into custody of the authorities.
