In order to commemorate the month dedicated to children, Colombian National Army deployed its social Resources and visited more than 13 health care institutions and surprised children suffering from cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
Through this wonderful initiative, the soldiers together with the United States Southern Command, the United States Embassy in Colombia, the Food Bank and other strategic allies, sought to bring joy and hope to these brave children and show them that they are not alone in their battle and that there are people willing to do everything possible to make them feel special and loved.
With donations of costumes, distribution of presents and school kits, recreational activities, face painting, colorful balloons, dancing and a lot of fun, an atmosphere full of joy was created, where the little ones forgot for a moment the challenge for which they cross and enjoyed together with their families, the magic of being children.
This noble cause was carried out at the Cardiovascular Foundation and the children's oncology corridors of the Military Hospital and the National Institute of Cancerology in Bogotá. In the same way, at the General Hospital of Medellín, the Departmental Hospital of Villavicencio, the Federico Lleras Hospital in Ibagué, the HUV University Hospital in Cali, the San José de Popayán Hospital, the Hernando Moncaleano University Hospital in Neiva, the María Inmaculada Hospital, Pediatrics and Emergencies of Florencia, the Sonriendo por la Vida Foundation in Valledupar, the Medical Duarte Clinic in Cúcuta, the Orinoquia Regional Hospital in Yopal and the San Juan Bautista Hospital in the municipality of Chaparral.
