The announcement was made by General Helder Fernan Giraldo Bonilla, General Commander of the Military Forces, who together with the military commanders, civil authorities and productive groups of the region conducted a security meeting due to the confrontations that have arisen among armed groups that commit crimes in the region.
On the morning of this Friday, November 24, the General Commander of the Military Forces, General Helder Fernan Giraldo Bonilla, and the military commanders arrived in Santa Rosa del Sur, department of Bolívar, to review the military operations that are being conducted against the organized armed groups who constantly confront for the control of illicit activities, attacking against the security and good physical condition of the inhabitants.

In recent days, the Erlin Pino Duarte substructure of the Clan del Golfo, with its ringleader alias Chiromoya, the Eln led by alias Casinga and the FARC Dissident Structure 37, directed by alias Guaraca, are responsible for attacking the communities of the region, for the dispute and control of illicit activities such as drug trafficking and the illicit exploitation of mining deposits in this area of southern Bolivar.
To stop the criminal operations of these illegal groups, General Helder Fernan Giraldo Bonilla, Commander of the Military Forces, announced the arrival, in the coming hours, of Special Forces units, which will carry out security operations to protect the inhabitants.
The troops currently deployed in the region have made the arrest of four members of the Clan del Golfo, the destruction of 21 explosive devices, the finding and destruction of four camps and five laboratories for production coca paste base, as well as the finding of war materiel, military accessories and communications.
