The solidarity of the Plateño people led the campaign of the Battalion of Instruction Training and Recurrent training No.9 of the Ninth Brigade, to be successful for the benefit of the 20 elderly of the home La Milagrosa.
After an arduous activity inviting the union of efforts on behalf of the elderly, the soldiers walked the streets to collect perishable and non-perishable food.
A truck, loudspeaker equipment and an unwavering willingness to serve were the elements used by the soldiers to advance on the activity, which become a real support of the community that provided half a ton of food, products of the family basket, among others, which today contributes to cover some of the most basic needs.
“These humanitarian missions demonstrate the good heart of the soldiers of the National Army, who continue to work for the well-being of the Colombian people, our gratitude for the good feelings they express for the elderly, " said Mrs. Nohemí Ramírez, in charge of taking care of the elderly.
Lieutenant Colonel Cesar Adolfo Gamboa, Commander of the Battalion of Instruction Training and Recurrent training No.9 is proud of this operation.
"Today, once again, as soldiers of Colombia, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to our civilians, this time with our elders of the La Milagrosa geriatric home, an operation coordinated with the community that demonstrated its generosity by contributing a bit.”
