These illegal structures, used for processing stolen petroleum, had inside rudimentary distillers and pools for the storage of petroleum.
Through the military area control operations carried out for the protection of strategic assets of the State, troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No.10 of the Task Force Vulcano, found five illegal refineries, on the weekend, in rural areas of the municipality of Tibú, Norte de Santander, which would be part of the illicit financial system of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) ELN Juan Fernando Porras Martínez front.
The military operation aimed at neutralizing the theft of fuels, was carried out in rural area of the village Caño Victoria Sur, sector where the units of the Land Operations Battalion No.10, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General’s office, found the 5 illicit refineries for the distillation of petroleum. As a result, an individual, apparently a member of the terrorist support networks of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) ELN, was capture in flagrante delicto.
In the same way, troops found four meters long pools for the storage of stolen petroleum, five Marcianos (handmade distillers), 12 dice (bucket-shaped containers), four motor pumps, four electricity generators, 12 plastic barrels, 500 meters of four-inch hose, 800 meters of two-inch hose, materials used to connect the refineries.
