Bogotá. The Deputy Minister of Defense for Policies and International Affairs, Aníbal Fernández de Soto, presided today in Bogotá the installation of the conference 'Mass Atrocity Prevention Tools and Early Warning System' organized by the Ombudsman, the Auschwitz Institute for Reconciliation and Peace and the Swedish Embassy.
During his speech, the Deputy Minister highlighted that the Ministry of Defense has instruments that support the early warnings system of the State, such as the Sirie system of the General Command of the Military Forces and the Elite Corps of the National Police, which have as main function to give direction the denunciations of citizens
"The Sirie System and the Elite Corps are in charge of the most important investigations in terms of impacts and threats, in addition, they receive any incident related to situations where there is a high confluence of factors of instability and Human Rights have been affected”, said Fernández de Soto.
He in the same way he assured that "the participation of the Public Force in this activity will lead the military to share their lessons from the past, as well as to know the successful experiences of other countries that will lead us to improve more and more in Human Rights Policies that we have developed successfully in the Defense Sector ".
