More than 1,000 specialists who arrived on the Ship Comfort provide high-quality medical services to vulnerable communities in the walled city.
The Commander of the Military Forces, Major General Helder Fernan Giraldo, the United States Ambassador to Colombia, Francisco Palmieri and the Commander of the National Navy, Francisco Cubidez, presided over the opening ceremony for the arrival of the Comfort Ship in Colombia.
The Commander of the Military Forces affirmed that this type of humanitarian missions have been possible thanks to the unity of efforts conducted by the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Health, the Southern Command and the Embassy of the United States, the Colombian Military Forces and local authorities of the department of Bolivar.
Finally, he sent a greeting of gratitude to General Laura Richardson, commander of the Southern Command, for the permanent support and commitment to Colombia and the entire region to contribute decisively to the well-being of the inhabitants, understanding this as a substantial part of security.
