This new blow against this organized armed group leads to further strengthening security in the municipalities of Magdalena Medio.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Plan, troops of the Fifth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Magdalena Medio Police and the Attorney General's Office, arrested seven alleged members of the criminal component of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo del Golfo, in Barrancanermeja and El Llanito village, of the petroleum district.
In the first operation, in El Llanito, alias Pedro and alias Kendo were arrested. In Barrancabermeja alias Gato, alias Loco and alias Mogoll贸n. These individuals would be the alleged responsible for three homicides in the petroleum port that occurred the previous year, they in the same way have arrest warrants for alleged crimes of association to commit aggravated crimes and manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms; they were found by troops with different doses of narcotics.
In other incidents, in the same way in the village of El Llanito, it was possible to arrest two more people, a man and a woman apparently linked to the criminal component of the GAO Clan del Golfo. War material was seized of these people. The man will have to answer for crimes of manufacturing, trafficking carrying or possessing firearms, and the woman was wanted for the crimes of extortion and trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
This sustained operation against this armed group leads not only to damage its the structure, but in the same way, to the clarification of homicides and criminal operations, especially in the petroleum port.
