Sergeant Inocencio Chincá is remembered as a hero, a humble man of the Sikuani indigenous reservation who was born in the municipality of Tame in Arauca, in 1798. He belonged to the Liberation Army, he fought in the battle of Las Queseras del medio and his greatest feat was reported on July 25, 1819 in the Vargas Swamp, where he fought tirelessly to defend the ideals of freedom of our nation; there he was wounded, dying three days later in the municipality of Tibasosa in the department of Boyacá.
In a solemn ceremony in the Plaza de Armas, which bears his name inside the military school for non-commissioned officers, was honored Sergeant Inocencio Chincá, hero of the homeland, whose values, principles and courage are military virtues to be followed through history, and by which the alma mater of the non-commissioned officers bears his name and today honors him after 203 years of his death.
His discipline, values and principles became the legacy for all the generations of non-commissioned officers, who have the great responsibility of carrying proudly the title sub officer, being ethical and respectful of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, acting flawlessly honoring the memory of the first of sub officers of the national army.
For his part, colonel Jhobanny Flórez Trujillo, Director of the training school, recalled the heroic exploits of the hero and called the future generations of non-commissioned officers to act with righteousness, and to be an example of the lineage of the non-commissioned Officer and, which from immemorial times strengthens the Resources of the army and contributes to the construction of our beloved nation.
Finally, officers and non-commissioned officers, in order to strengthen the military vocation, discipline and training of corporals of the future, renewed their commitment to their comprehensive training.
