Caquetá. Thanks to the articulated work carried out with the Corporación para el Desarrollo Sostenible del Sur de la Amazonia, Corpoamazonia, soldiers of the Omega Joint Task Force intensified their operations in favor of the ecosystem.
In recent hours, the joint work led to the seizure of more than 1,000 wood long stakes of different types in the fluvial port of Remolinos del Caguán, municipality of Cartagena del Chaira, department of Caquetá.
In the river port, the units of the Marine Infantry Battalion N ° 31, the Ground Combat Battalion N ° 1 of the Caguán Specific Command, found two cargo-ships that transported approximately 65.48 cubic meters of wood.
The operations of environmental protection are maintained on the rivers of the Colombian southeast, always in a joint work with Corpoamazonia, who validate the legality of the wood transported by fluvial ways.
The Omega Joint Task Force maintains joint and coordinated operations in the region, and at the same time it conducts military operations against environmental crimes such as the illicit exploitation of natural resources.
