After the acts of violence presented last weekend in the municipality of Bahía Solano, in the department ofChocó and with the purpose of taking decisive operations and focusing inter-institutional efforts to restore law and order, local mayor Ulmer Mosquera Gutiérrez, called this Monday, April 6, 2020, an extraordinary security council.
The meeting that took place in the facilities of the Municipal Mayor's Office had the participation of Rear Admiral John Fabio Giraldo Gallo, Commander of the Pacific Naval Force; Colonel Henry Galán Sierra, Commander of the Chocó Police; representatives of the Attorney General's Office and municipal authorities, who analyzed the situation and generated a series of commitments to counteract the acts of violence generated by Organized Armed Groups in the municipality.
At the end of the Council, a series of commitments were made with clear strategies to strengthen security. In this sense, the Colombian Navy strengthened its military operations to be deployed in the urban area and surrounding areas to guarantee security conditions for its inhabitants.
In the same way, during the meeting, it was defined that support to the National Police will continue through coordinated operations to count on more units in the urban area. The Municipal Mayor's Office requested an increase in the strength of the National Police Force and agility and transparency in judicial procedures in order to capture those responsible for disturbing law and order in the sector Mutis city.
Additionally, an information broadcasting plan will be created and it will comprise the municipal Mayor's Office and the "Bahía Solano Seguro" Security forces, in which the operational reports and the operations carried out by the Local Administration will be broadcasted, with the purpose of keeping the people of Solarano permanently informed.
