The successful development of joint and coordinated operations conducted by the Colombian Navy, the Police and the Army led to the capture of two members of the Organized Armed Group GAO “Clan del Golfo del Golfo”.
The operations were reported in the rural area of the municipality of Acandí, in the department of Chocó, where the men of the Navy of Colombia and the National Police arrived, with the support of the National Army, to find the whereabouts of the criminals, who hid in the hamlets of the department.
Troops of the Marine Infantry, of the Fluvial Battalion No.16 and Comandos Jungla of the National Police, entered the village of Chagundí, to capture alias 'Flaco Tigre', who for 10 years, belonged to the criminal organization and was the person in charge of the planting of antipersonnel mines, and the custody of drug trafficking routes, in the border area of Colombia and Panama. In the place, in the same way they captured alias 'Ruíz', his personal security man.
This military and police operation led to the discovery of important war material and military garments, including two rifles, a pistol, a shotgun, 12 magazines and communications equipment of the criminal group.
