The Colombian Navy, within the framework of the second edition of the campaign to support the development Sailing the Heart of Putumayo, a medical assistance activity was carried out as well as an entrepreneurship meeting, recreational activities and solid waste collection during the first, second and third of July in the municipality of Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo, benefiting about 3,500 inhabitants.
In the José María Hernández School, thanks to the support of 30 physicians of the medical Foundation Fuerza Colombia, the Medical Clinic of Leguizamo and the Hospital Maria Angelines, provided medical care for two days to the inhabitants of urban and rural areas of the municipality, in the specialty of physical therapist, physiatrist, speech therapy, geriatrics, gynecology, internal medicine, nutrition, optometry, in addition to providing services of prenatal, growth and development, general medicine, dentistry, psychology, as well as an activity of vaccination and cytology.
In parallel, in the Heroes' Park, the second business fair was held, which was attended by 40 entrepreneurs, who made a sample of products and services. A recycling contest was in the same way held where toys made with 100 percent recycled materials were awarded.
Finally, together with National Natural Parks of Colombia and on the occasion of the International Day Free of Plastic Bags, the collection of about a ton of solid waste that was on the banks of the Putumayo River was carried out.
This great campaign joined the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the National Police, the Mayor of Puerto Leguízamo, the Foundation Fuerza Colombia and the Hospital Maria Angelines, generating profits for the people approximately by $ 270 million pesos represented in donations and the sale of products and services.
