The First Division of the National Army has worked jointly with the different State agencies that have led to ensure the well-being and security of the indigenous communities of La Guajira in the midst of the pandemic caused by COVID-19. The children, who have suffered because of not having materials that led them to study and acquire the necessary knowledge for a better future, have been also beneficiaries of the activity.
For this reason, the troops of the Combined task force No.1 with the support of the Comprehensive Action Battalion, have used all their resources to provide opportunities to children and adolescents of the different indigenous groups in this part of the Caribbean region, distributing 1,350 school kits in the last quarter of 2020 that have benefited minors in Alta Guajira region.
In the same way, activities have been carried out to raise awareness to prevent the forced recruitment of minors, in order to strengthen ties with civilians and with the indigenous communities in this part of Colombian territory.
