The Satena airline's challenge was met and this Friday, March 3, it is its regular direct flight Bogota - Caracas which was opened with 44 passengers.
The president of this company, Brigadier General Óscar Zuluaga, said that Satena is working for connectivity and that now these flights, to the neighboring country, will be made on Tuesdays and Fridays, on board an Embraer ERJ145 aircraft with a capacity for 50 passengers.
The first passengers arrived at El Dorado Airport very early and, surprised by the welcome, expressed their satisfaction with the new route.
“It is a wonderful start that we have been waiting for three years, we are very pleased and this will improve commercial and tourist relations,” said Luis Enrique Jiménez, businessman and passenger of this flight 8900 and added: "We want to take people from Colombia to Venezuela and return the good they have given us.”
For her part, the Deputy Minister of Veterans and Social Business Group of the GSED of the Ministry of Defense, Mrs Elsa Piedad Morales, recognizes the company and said that it is a very big challenge to maintain the occupation and open more to the international market.
The Minister of Transport, Guillermo Reyes, welcomed all the passengers and said that work is being done to reach new routes in other cities of Venezuela.
Finally, the president of the company added: “We are launching this project commissioned by the Presidency of the Republic, which was started in November and will bring multiple benefits to both countries in terms of tourism and business."
