At the end of an Extraordinary Security Council in Buga, it was announced, along with the City Hall and the Government of Valle del Cauca, a reward of up to USD$56,000 for information that led the Military Forces to capture those responsible for the violent act where four people dead in this municipality.
General Eduardo Zapateiro, Commander of the National Army, and Major General Jorge Luis Vargas Valencia, Director General of the National Police, emphasized that the Military Forces will work in a coordinated manner to capture those responsible and prosecute them.
“The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Valle will coordinate with the Police Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Valle, to work together and coordinated to be able to deal a blow to all kinds of instability such as extortion and kidnapping. Finally, the Army will still conducting operations in the rural area to hit the Organized Armed Groups (GAOs) and Crime Organized Groups (GDO)”, explained the General Zapateiro.
In the same way, General Vargas said that: “by order of the President of the Republic, and by the General Navarro, Minister of Defense (e), all the resources of the Military Forces and the National Police will be put into operation to establish accountability and prosecute the criminals”.
Besides, it was reported that in the area there is already a joint team made up of Army troops, Carabineers and investigators from the Dijin (Investigation Police) and the Attorney’s Office, in Buga.
Finally, the Director of the Police offered condolences to the inhabitants of Buga and Valle.
