Up to USD$228,000 would be offered for information that leads to the capture of aliases Erre, Barcelona, Sangre and El Gato of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, who would be responsible for the murder of five people in the village of Tapartó, in La Vela, in the municipality of Andes, Antioquia.
The Minister of Defense sent a message to the citizens. "Andes and the southwest region are not alone, we will continue to work for the peace of the community. There is no truce with drug criminals who massacre and frighten the inhabitants. We will not rest until we find the responsible for this tragedy that grieves the region”.
At the end of the Extraordinary Security Council in Andes, Antioquia, the Minister of Defense, Diego Molano Aponte, announced a reward of up to USD$228,000 for those individuals responsible for the murder of 5 people in the village of Tapartó, in La Vela, in the municipality of Andes, Antioquia. In the same way, a reward of up to USD$228,000 was announced for information that leads to the capture of aliases Erre, Barcelona, Sangre and El Gato, ringleaders of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo.
The National Police released the list of the most-wanted criminals for citizens to cooperate with information that leads to the capture of the criminals of the GAO Clan del Golfo. The Colombian Air Force will complement it with an aerial plan spreading information through the use of loudspeakers. A special criminal investigation team, made up of 15 judicial police officers, was set up to capture and dismantle the GAO Clan del Golfo, which would be the main responsible for massacres in the region.

Today, within the framework of the operation Plan 100 Días Contra el Microtráfico (100 Days Against Micro-trafficking), in coordinated operation conducted by the Police and the Attorney’s Office, in the municipalities of Andes and Jardín, it was possible to capture in flagrante eight people of the GAO Clan del Golfo. Some of the captured are alias El Indio, who was in charge of murders and who managed drug distribution places; alias El Zarco, who was also in charge of murders; and alias Araña, who managed drug distribution places
The National Army ordered the installation of a command checkpoint in the municipality of Andes. It will deploy 36 men to patrol coffee farms and will send a police detachment of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) to keep presence in sectors hit by extortions. A new Military Police and Infantry platoon made up of 72 soldiers will be sent to the Battalion Cacique Nutibara.
The plan Fincas sin Microtráfico (a plan against drug trafficking) will be initialized to carry out comprehensive prevention, intelligence and criminal investigation and safe denounce will be incentivize so that the community cooperates with information about drug dealers and micro-trafficking criminals.
The Ministry of Defense with the local government of Antioquia will follow up the actions to construct the Regional Prison in the southwest of Antioquia, in coordination with the Ministry of Justice, in order to mitigate overcrowding at police stations.
Finally, Minister Molano encouraged citizens to collaborate with the authorities and denounce any suspicious action that may hit the security of their community.
