In a coordinated effort to shield Colombian skies from any attempt to violate national sovereignty, the Colombian Air Force and the Interagency Joint Task Force of the United States Southern Command (JIAFT-S) carried out a training of the Air Bridge Denial - ABD program, which concentrates the different security operations of these two nations in the fight against drug trafficking.
Within the framework of the ABD convention denial of the air bridge, an annual certification is executed, where detection, reaction and identification procedures are carried out, simulating suspicious aircraft that violate National airspace where it is sought to carry out an interception to determine its legality.
These aircraft in the Colombian Caribbean area are guided for review and background checks at the Air Combat Command No.3, following the procedures for the landing of a suspicious aircraft.
