Maritime operations framed in the frontal fight against illicit drug trafficking, carried out by the Colombian Navy in the Colombian Pacific, led to the finding of a shipment with more than half a ton of cocaine, when three individuals intended to take it from the national territory to Central American countries, aboard a ship. After several minutes of pursuit, the boat was stopped at Pac铆fico Centro.
During the inspection, members of the Military Forces found 18 sacks containing 501 rectangular packages, as well as several barrels with 324 gallons of fuel and communications equipment.
The three individuals, along with the material and the boat, were taken to the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station where members of the Technical team of the Prosecutor's Office conducted the tests that left positive result for 501 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
With this finding, the Colombian Navy prevented 1,252,500 doses of cocaine from being illegally distributed and marketed in Central and North American countries.
