Among those rescued there were two minors.
In the midst of adverse weather conditions, Colombian Navy units rescued four people at sea, after remaining adrift, due to a mechanical breakdown in their rudimentary fishing boat in which they were in Riohacha, department of La Guajira.
The search and rescue operation was possible during maritime control and surveillance operations, which led the rapid reaction unit of the Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta to observe the boat approximately 10 nautical miles off shore, with the four people on board, including two minors, moments in which due to the heavy waves, they were being dragged out to sea.
In compliance with the security measures, the members of the Way煤u community were transported and the boat was towed to Las Delicias sector, where they received food and hydration.
