The Colombian Air Force, through the Strategic Department of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, presented four reports to the Truth, Responsibility and Determination of Facts and Conducts (SRVR) Room of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), entitled:
- Even War has limits, armed conflict, International Humanitarian Law and doctrine of the Colombian Air Force
- Incidental damage and liability arising from military operations in the Colombian Air Force
- The eyes of the eagle, the internal armed conflict from the perspective of the pilots of the Colombian Air Force between 1985 and 2007
- The Role of the Colombian Air Force in the framework of the Colombian post-agreement 2016-2020.
These reports are part of an investigative process that was carried outed since 2019, in which several disciplinary perspectives were combined, which have provided new knowledge and analysis perspectives to explain in detail, how the Colombian Air Force has operated in the framework of the internal armed conflict and has contributed to the implementation of the Final Agreement.
In this regard, the reports explain the relevant participation of the Colombian Air Force in the context of the armed conflict and its contributions to peace-building, deepening in how its missions and procedures are framed in the respect for and implementation of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
This public event demonstrates the Colombian Air Force鈥檚 total willingness and commitment to continue to contribute to the mandate of the Special Rapporteur for Peace and its objective of contributing to the building of a stable and lasting peace.
