In the framework of the Conference of Commanders of the Air Forces of South America, General Ramsés Rueda Rueda, Commander of the Colombian Air Force, FAC, introduced the paper Colombian Air Force against transnational threats contextualizing the different threats that arise in the region and their risks against the security of States.
In his speech, he shared with the Commanders of the South American Air Forces and Non-Commissioned Officers, the FAC's contribution to the security of the hemisphere through the leadership of the ZEUS regional air interception strategy, to which Air Forces of Central America and the Caribbean have joined, highlighting the importance of the action that other countries in the region have contributed to this initiative that seeks to combine efforts, wills and operational Resources.
Finally, the representatives of the Air Forces agreed with the proposal to work in a combined and coordinated manner in order to counter common threats; concluding that: “In a globalized world, individual responses to combat transnational threats are not the best strategy,” as expressed by General Ramsés Rueda Rueda, Commander of the Colombian Air Force.
