In compliance with the Bicentenary Campaign Plan Heroes ode La Libertad, troops of the Colombian Navy and the Drug Trafficking Brigade, attached to the Hercules Joint Task Force, recovered a minor recruited by the residual Organized Armed Group United Guerrillas of the Pacific, in the San Sebasti谩n district, zone of Tumaco, in the department of Nari帽o.
After a review of the state of health, the minor recovered by Units of the navy Infantry Brigade No.4, was put into custody of the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, to begin the process of reestablishing his rights. With this operation, there are already 10 minors who have been recovered from the ranks of these illegal armed structures.
During the operation, a rifle, magazines, ammunition, three radios, four antennas, communications equipment and military accessories and materials were seized, which were put into custody of the authority.
In the sector, the troops of the navy Infantry Battalion No.40 permanently carry out river control procedures, search and security operations, to continue guaranteeing the security of the sector.
The Military Forces firmly reject the forced recruitment of minors, an action that violates Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. In the same way, they ratify the continuous development of operations in a joint and coordinated way, in the frontal fight against residual GAO that attack the tranquility of the inhabitants of the Pacific region in the department of Nari帽o.
