Troops of the National Army arrest an individual, who according to the authorities is accused of being the explosives expert of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 48, which calls itself Comandos de Frontera. This is the result of a firefight that the military unit engaged with the group of alías Barbas, in the municipality of Vegas del Piñuña, in the municipality of Puerto Asís, Putumayo.
This man would be in charge of installing explosive devices on the banks of the Mecaya River, in the limits of the municipalities of Puerto Guzmán, Puerto Asís and Puerto Leguízamo, actions that put the lives of civilians and National Army troops in danger.
During the course of the military operation, the man was wounded and was immediately taken to the nearest medical centre where he received specialized care.
In addition, it was possible to find a pistol, hand grenades, improvised explosive devices, field equipment, 9-mm cartridges and materials for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.
