As a result of the binational coordination and integration with the Republic of Peru, the Binational Operation Colombia – Peru 2023 is successfully taking place, with which operations are being carried out that contribute to improving the quality of life of villages settled in areas further away of the geography of Colombia and Peru thanks to the deployment of the ARC Eddic Cristian Reyes Holguín and ARC Luis Alejandro Bernal Baquero river units, as well as the bongo hospital, which move together with the units of the Peruvian Navy traveling more than 480 kilometers on the Putumayo River.
In the fourteenth edition, 2,146 people, belonging to 19 riverside communities of the departments of Putumayo and Amazonas, have been benefited with services in audiology, physiotherapy, geriatrics, gynecology, general medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, psychology, by the military personnel of the Medical Dispensary of Leguizamo, who in the area of dentistry and medicine have joined efforts together with the health professionals of the Visible Meta Foundation. In addition, instructions have been given to the beneficiary communities in order to promote the creation of productive, environmental projects, as well as the distribution of 15,729 medicines, 5,363 bienestarina units (food supplement) and about 2,000 donations consisting of sports equipment, school kits, clothing and non-perishable food.
In the same way, identification and search services have been served with the support of the National Civil Registry office and recreational activities by the Special Awareness Operation Group of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.30 with which it seeks to encourage healthy recreation and use of free time.
