Puerto Leguízamo, Putumayo, February 09, 2020. The General Command of the Military Forces informs:
1. On February 08, 2021, the Peruvian Navy requested medical assistance for a Non-Commissioned Officer of the Amazonas River Control Unit, due to his delicate health situation.
2. The Non-Commissioned Officer was taken from Soplin-Vargas village to the municipality of Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo, where he was received by the medical staff of the Naval Hospital ARC Leguizamo to provide health care. He was transferred to the second level Hospital María Angelines.
3. Due to the medical difficulty that the Non-Commissioned Officer had, he required to be intubated and assisted by a multidisciplinary medical team. Unfortunately, and despite medical efforts, he died due to the difficulties.
4. The Military Forces of Colombia regret the death of this Non-Commissioned Officer and express condolence to our brothers in Peru.
