The N.6 Air Combat Command, CACOM-6, of the Colombian Air Force, is in Tres Esquinas, Caquet谩, a place diverse of fauna and flora representative of the south East of the country; that is why the presence of wild animals is of great importance for this Air Military Unit.
That is why the CACOM-6 has sponsored a Flag Macaw, a bird specimen belonging to the family of the macaw neotropical parrots that inhabit Central and South America, in humid forests, as is this region of the country, the bird, often comes up in the Unit to eat the different fruits, insects and plants that are at the Tres Esquinas Air Base.
Due to the ecological importance of the birds, the CACOM-6 of the Environment Squad, has initiated a protection and recovery operation of this specimen which has been hit by illegal logging, a predominant factor that negatively alters the free development of this specimen, unique in the country.
